NHP is the regional organization for individuals who receive primary care in the following counties:
Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Elbert, Kit Carson, Kiowa, Lincoln, Larimer, Logan, Morgan, Otero, Phillips, Prowers, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld, and Yuma.

NHP partners with local health care providers and community-based organizations across these counties to ensure you receive high-quality, comprehensive care. EPSDT

The EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment) benefit offers free, comprehensive healthcare for children and youth under 20, as well as for pregnant adults enrolled in Health First Colorado (Medicaid). These services are provided at no cost to the member when covered under the EPSDT benefit.

Nurse Advice Line:  800-283-3221

The Health First Colorado Nurse Advice Line offers free medical advice 24/7. Call 800-283-3221 (State Relay: 711) to speak with a nurse who can answer health questions, provide care advice, and help you determine if you need to see a healthcare provider. They can also guide you on managing conditions like diabetes or asthma. For appointments or prescription refills, please contact your healthcare provider’s office.

As a member, knowing your Rights and Responsibilities helps you actively participate in your care.

Complaints and Appeals

You have the right to file a complaint at any time. You also have a right to request an appeal for any denied behavioral health services within sixty (60) days of the notice of denied services. NHP will help you file a complaint or appeal.

We host advisory committees that bring people together—from members and families to advocates, providers, and local organizations. These gatherings create space for open dialogue, shared problem-solving, and meaningful collaboration. Your experiences and ideas help us strengthen programs, improve care, and build healthier communities.

We will send this to you free of charge within five (5) business days. NHP can also connect you to language services including American Sign Language or help you find a provider with ADA accommodations.
