What is a Regional Organization?

Colorado’s Medicaid program is called Health First Colorado. Every Health First Colorado member is assigned a primary care provider and a regional organization, also known as a regional accountable entity. A regional organization helps you manage your physical and behavioral health benefits and connects you to the care and resources you need.

What is a Regional Organization?

Every Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) member is part of a regional organization. Regional organizations support networks of providers to ensure you can access healthcare for your body, vision, mental health, and substance use in a coordinated manner. For members who have more complex needs and receive services from multiple state agencies, the regional organization is available to work with the member and their different providers to support improved coordination of services.

Northeast Health Partners serves as the regional organization for Region 2 in Colorado.

How Does My Regional Organization Support My Care?

RAEs are responsible for coordinating a member’s care. They support a network of providers to make sure you can access physical health care, behavioral health care, vision and dental services, and health-related social need resources.

NHP works together with your PCP, community care teams, and other local partners to help you get the care you need, when and where you need it.

Your Health First Colorado member handbook has important information about how a RAE supports your care. You can download your handbook from the Health First Colorado website.
